Ellyn Rose Schneider

At last, your humble host returns from two weeks in England, as we bodly continue with this familial experiment. This week we talk to Elly, who suddenly finds herself in the role of single mother--at least for the next six months. Listen as we talk about living in paradise, compare notes on our kids, and generally behave like the siblings we are.

  • Here's news.....or not.....the description of the differences between Jonah and Sadie sound just like the differences between Josh and Carley when they were of comparable age. And Josh and Ellyn Rose----sibling banter sounds a bit different than cousin banter---very interesting. And I just may take a vacation at Vandenburg......

  • Hey Elly, you didn't sound like a huge dork! You sounded intelligent, and cheerful, and not totally exhausted! Way to go!! And good job not rubbing it in Josh's face that you were right and he was wrong. You should have made him say-on the air- "You're right, You're right, you're always right" like he used to make us! :) You are off the hook for another 54 weeks! :) Good job.

  • Hi Elly! Great interview. It's so much fun to hear about you and Jonah. I wish sooooo much that we lived closer. I liked your memory of hanging out with all the cousins at family reunions. Remember, that one year at Sunriver, you had an Ace of Base cassette tape, and we sat on the grass listening to it while the family was playing volleyball? I remember feeling so cool sitting with you listening to a "real, modern" band! We'll keep you guys in our prayers, especially with Austin gone for a while.

  • Another great interview. Celeste and I cleaned up the kitchen while listening to it...just like old timey radio, it is! (Now it's the hour for lemonade and moonpies on the front porch swing, and then into the ol' worn longjohns for a good night's sleep.)

Hey Elly...do you ever get advance warning of a launch there at Vandenburg? I know they send up those ballistic missle defense tests from time to time, and I'd love to coordinate a visit...maybe write some cool anti-Communist graffiti on the rocket before it launches...that kinda thing...
